The Cincinnati Bengals have been on an incredible run in the playoffs so far that has taken them to Super Bowl LVI. Now, they are just one win away from being Super Bowl champions.

However, BetMGM’s Super Bowl betting odds show them as 4.5 point underdogs against the Los Angeles Rams.

Can the Bengals win the Super Bowl for the first time in the team’s history? Here are three reasons they have a chance.

Super Bowl LVI Game Information

Before we get to these reasons, let’s look at what information you should know about this year’s Super Bowl.

  • Date: Sunday, Feb. 13th, 2022
  • Time: 6:30 P.M. EST
  • Venue: SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA

1. Joe Burrow

One significant advantage Cincinnati has is the emergence of quarterback Joe Burrow during the 2021 season.

This is the first complete season he has played in the NFL. In 2020, he suffered a season-ending injury after only ten games, tearing the ACL and MCL in his left knee during his rookie campaign.

Despite this, he has come back strong during the 2021 season and has put up impressive statistics for the Bengals. Back in Week 11, he even set a franchise record for most passing yards in a game, throwing for 525 yards against the Baltimore Ravens.

He had 34 touchdown passes and 4,611 passing yards during the regular season. He has put up over 240 passing yards every game in the playoffs.

2. Turnovers

During the last three games, the Bengals have a turnover margin of +5 while the Rams are at zero. While Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford threw only one interception in the first three playoff rounds, he threw 17 picks in the regular season, with eight thrown in the final four games.

Los Angeles was just 2-4 in games with a negative turnover margin in the regular season.

3. Rushing Defense

Cincinnati has one of the best rushing defenses in football, allowing just 102.5 rushing yards per game in the regular season. That was the fifth-fewest in the NFL.

The Rams’ rushing attack only averaged 99 rushing yards per game in the regular season, ranking 25th in the NFL.

They are a team that tends to rely on their passing attack and they may struggle to run the ball in this game. If Cincinnati forces Los Angeles into third and long situations and doesn’t have to worry about the Rams’ rushing attack, they might be able to force more turnovers.

Will the Cincinnati Bengals Win Super Bowl LVI?

The Cincinnati Bengals are playing excellent football right now, and I think they can win the game. They have an elite quarterback, a favorable turnover margin, and one of the better running defenses in the NFL. Though they are underdogs, they have a great chance to win.
