The Kansas City Chiefs host their fourth straight AFC Championship this Sunday when they face the Cincinnati Bengals.

BetMGM’s NFL betting lines currently have the Chiefs as 7.5-point favorites.

Will the Chiefs be able to punch their third straight ticket to the Super Bowl? Here are three reasons I think that Kansas City will beat Cincinnati.

Chiefs vs. Bengals Game Information

Here are the things you need to know about this matchup.

  • Date: Sunday, Jan. 30th
  • Time: 3:00 P.M. EST on CBS
  • Venue: GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, MO

Kansas City Chiefs’ Hot Offense

Kansas City’s offense has been on fire during the playoffs. They have scored 42 points in their two playoff games and show no signs of slowing down.

Their offense also played well during the regular season, ranking fourth in the NFL in points per game (28.2) and fourth in passing yards per game (281.8).

In the playoffs, they have also led all playoff teams in total yards per game (515), passing yards per game (371), rushing yards per game (144), and points per game (42).

If the Chiefs’ offense can maintain this level of offensive excellence, I believe they will be too much for the Bengals to handle.

Passing Offense vs. Passing Defense

One category that the Chiefs can exploit when it comes to the Bengals is their passing defense.

Cincinnati ranked 26th in the NFL during the regular season in passing yards allowed per game (248.4). In contrast, the Chiefs’ passing offense was one of the best in the regular season, ranking fourth in the NFL (281.8).

So far in the playoffs, the Bengals have given up 247.5 passing yards per game, while the Chiefs have had 371 passing yards per game.

I think if the Chiefs can exploit this matchup, they have an excellent chance of coming out on top.

Pressuring Joe Burrow

Last week, quarterback Joe Burrow was sacked nine times in that game, yet the Bengals still won. However, they only scored 19 points, and it was on a game-winning field goal.

Cincinnati has had little success when Burrow has been sacked at least five times in the regular season. They were 1-3 in those games, and their only win came in overtime back in Week 1.

The problem is that Kansas City has not been the best team at pressuring the quarterback in the regular season. Their defense only had 31 sacks this season, ranking 29th in the NFL.

Suppose the Chiefs can put some pressure on Burrow. In that case, it will force Cincinnati into third and long situations, giving the Chiefs a better opportunity to put their spectacular offense on the field.

Do You Think the Chiefs Will Win?

These are three reasons the Kansas City Chiefs will beat the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship Game. Do you think their passing offense will show up? Will they put pressure on Burrow?
