The Arizona Cardinals look like the team to beat in the NFC West at 8-1. They’ll likely get stiff competition from the 7-2 Rams down the stretch, but it’s the Cardinals division to lose for the time being.
Quarterback Kyler Murray has been outstanding and is right up there in the MVP conversation at +500 in the NFL odds. The Cardinals have shown resiliency as well. They’ve been hampered by injuries all season long but keep finding ways to win.
Last week they had an impressive road win in San Francisco while missing their starting quarterback, two starting wide receivers, and their lead running back, who exited early with a sprained ankle. So let’s take a look at the Arizona Cardinals odds in Week 10 and beyond.
The Offense Looks Unstoppable
Even without a ton of key offensive players, the Cardinals still dropped a 31 on the 49ers on the road last weekend. The Cards are second in the NFL in points scored (30.8 per game), fourth in total yards (416.8 per game), and in the top ten in passing and rushing.
They’ve also been clutch. Everyone knows that you need to be good on third down to be successful in the NFL, and Arizona is currently converting 44.3% of the time, good for 7th in the league.
Kyler Murray has silenced his critics with excellent play in the pocket while using his legs only when he has to. In eight games this year, he has 2276 passing yards and just 147 on the ground.
The Defense Is Just As Good
It’s not often that a team is just as good on defense as on offense, but the Cardinals are just that this year. The team ranks 4th in yards allowed per game (337.6) and has given up the 3rd fewest points per game at 17.2.
Losing J.J. Watt was a significant blow, but the team is still loaded with talent on defense with the likes of linebackers Chandler Jones and Markus Golden (9 sacks) and standout defensive backs Budda Baker and Byron Murphy (3 INTs). They’ve been stingy on third down as well, allowing a 2nd best 31.7% conversion rate.
Arizona Cardinals Odds
The Cardinals host the struggling Carolina Panthers this week, which may be without starting quarterback Sam Darnold. Darnold is day-to-day after having an MRI on his right shoulder on Monday.
If you’ve been betting on the Cardinals so far this year, you’ve been one happy bettor. Not only would you be 8-1 on the money line, but you’d be an impressive 7-2 against the spread. The Cardinals are a -10-home favorite this week, and that’s a spread that I’ll jump all over.
You might also want to think long-term about these Cards. Arizona is paying +425 to win the NFC outright and +900 to win the Super Bowl. Not bad, considering that many believe this is a Super Bowl-caliber team.
It’s a Good Time To Be a Cardinals Fan
The Arizona Cardinals appear to be entering a window of winning that could be open for several years. Kyler Murray isn’t going anywhere, the defense is stout, and they have arguably the best wide receiver in all of football with DeAndre Hopkins.
It’s not a bad time to place some future bets on a team that could be playing into late January and maybe even February. So be sure to keep up to date on BetMGM’s football lines and check back daily for all of your Arizona sports betting action.
