Carlos Alcaraz Injury Update: When Will Alcaraz Return From Injury?

If BetMGM’s men’s tennis odds market has felt a little underwhelming this year, there’s one likely explanation: Carlos Alcaraz.

The seven-time Grand Slam champion suffered a wrist injury at the Barcelona Open in April, sidelining him for both the French Open and Wimbledon. 

That was a boon not only for rival Jannik Sinner, who completed his Career Golden Masters and successfully defended his title at Wimbledon, but also Alexander Zverev. With Alcaraz absent from Roland Garros and Sinner suffering a shocking early upset, the German was able to capture his first career Slam title.

Now, though, with the US Open roughly six weeks away, many tennis fans are wondering what the timeline is for Alcaraz’s return to professional tennis. 

On this front, there may be good news. 

When Will Carlos Alcaraz Play Tennis Again?

Carlos Alcaraz has filed to play in the Cincinnati Open, which runs from August 13-23. This is a good sign that his team expects him to be healthy enough to defend his 2025 Cincinnati Open title.

Past that, it’s difficult to say whether Alcaraz is fully healthy right now. He may just be ready to compete, even if he’s not quite 100%. 

After all, the real prize in August is the US Open draw. As a slower hardcourt tournament, a fully healthy Alcaraz would likely be considered the favorite in the men’s US Open tennis odds market.
