  • The Rotterdam Open is an unusual detour to Europe in the winter hardcourt season.
  • The total prize purse for the 2026 Rotterdam Open is more than $2.9 million.

After the men’s tour wraps up the Australian Open at the end of January, the next big migration is to the Americas.

Some players will hit the Dallas Open this week, eyeing a return to major venues like Indian Wells and the Miami Open on the horizon. Other players prefer the clay courts on the Golden Swing in South America.

The Rotterdam Open, by contrast, is one of the only opportunities for ATP players to find tour-level tennis in Europe before clay season begins in April. For sponsorship reasons, Rotterdam is currently known as the ABN AMRO Open.

Rotterdam itself is a popular indoor hardcourt tournament in the Netherlands that has generally drawn high-caliber players. The last three singles champions have been familiar names: Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and Daniil Medvedev. All three are recent Slam winners.

Alex de Minaur is the No. 1 seed this year. With Alcaraz and Sinner skipping Rotterdam and Medvedev losing in the first round, tennis betting fans should see a different winner than in recent years.

The total purse at Rotterdam is roughly comparable to the concurrent Dallas Open – €2,462,660, or roughly $2.93 million.
