Jannik Sinner vs. Novak Djokovic: Wimbledon Semifinal Will Be 12th Meeting

Jannik Sinner, the No. 1 player in men’s tennis right now, is eyeing his fifth Grand Slam title at Wimbledon.

His semifinal opponent? That would be none other than seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic.

The 39-year-old, who’s one of the oldest men currently playing professional tennis, is looking to surpass Margaret Court as the player who’s won the most Grand Slam tennis championships. The match is set for Friday morning.

Jannik Sinner is a sizable favorite to beat Novak Djokovic and return to the Wimbledon championship round. As of this writing, he’s in BetMGM’s Wimbledon odds.

Sinner has a 6-5 head-to-head advantage against Djokovic. However, Sinner is 5-1 in their last six meetings and 4-1 since the start of 2024. 

Djokovic has a 2-1 head-to-head advantage on grass courts. All three of their grass matches have been on Centre Court at Wimbledon.

Djokovic actually won his most recent head-to-head match against Sinner. That was in the semifinals of the Australian Open earlier this year.
