Connors changed tennis' country-club image, but he'll be back in a genteel, exclusive setting Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015, for a private exhibition against Aaron Krickstein, his opponent in the memorable match at the U.S. Open more than 23 years ago.

The ATP men’s tennis tour is one of the busiest and deepest calendars in international sports. It’s not uncommon for there to be two or three official tour-level tournaments happening in different parts of the world in the same week.

Because of this, it can be hard to keep up with the running list of players who are finding the most success on tour this year.

That’s an important list to keep tabs on for any tennis fan, but it’s especially important for anyone who’s considering getting into tennis betting.

Every year, the ATP event schedule begins in January and continues for most of the calendar year.

What Are the Most ATP Tour Wins in a Single Season?

In 1977, former Argentine No. 1 Guillermo Vilas won a whopping 16 singles tournaments in one calendar year – a record that will likely never be broken with the modern tour format.

Rising Popularity of the Career Golden Masters

For most of modern history, ATP 1000 events were a big deal, but they weren’t thought of in the same breath as Grand Slam tournaments.

Novak Djokovic shifted that perception to some degree. Djokovic famously grinded the tour, week in and week out, to a degree that was unusual for someone with his high level of success and prize money winnings.

The result was that Djokovic actually invented a new accomplishment: the Career Golden Masters.

If a Career Slam is the name for winning all four Grand Slam tournaments at least once in your career, then the Golden Masters is the name for winning all nine ATP Masters events at least once.

Before Djokovic, no one has ever done this. As far as we know, no one had even thought about tracking this. But with Djokovic’s accomplishment, a new career feat was born. Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and others are now chasing his greatness at these events.
