Backyard Battles to Vegas Lights: Cavinder Twins Clash in First Public 1-on-1

Haley and Hanna Cavinder, 25, have played one-on-one basketball games hundreds of times over the course of their lives.

But Sunday, April 5, might be the most anticipated one ever, as the two will have their first public one‑on‑one matchup played on BetMGM’s Court of Legends at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.

Fans nationwide can watch the stream of “Cavinder v. Cavinder Live from Vegas,” on X, YouTube and the BetMGM app at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

The Court of Legends is a 65-paneled LED half-court in the middle of an old nightclub that has been transformed into the ultimate speakeasy-style experience.

“It’s unbelievable,” Hanna said Saturday, moments after seeing the court for the first time. “They were showing us photos, but in person it’s unreal. I’ve never seen a court like this. Being able to experience everything they have set up for us is great. I think it’s just insane.”

Haley added: “Seeing it in person, being around this atmosphere and just the idea of the Court of Legends, playing here is just so sick. One of the coolest things I’ve ever been a part of. I’m so excited.”

The twins explained how BetMGM and the Court of Legends match who they are.

“It’s just been absolutely amazing to work with BetMGM,” Hanna said. “Obviously, it aligns with who Haley and I are with competition, creativity — all that jazz — and being able to spark our competitiveness. It’s just an amazing brand and we’re so excited to be able to work with them.”

Haley added: “I love working with brands, and people in general, with the same kind of mindset. It’s just so easy to represent that on our platforms. [BetMGM does] everything amazing, top tier. I never really experienced the type of luxury until coming here these last two weeks in Vegas.”

Beyond the spectacle, the event has reignited something deeper: their long-standing competitive spirit on the court.

Having not played in a game in over a year, they are both ready and even more excited given the environment.

“I think that we compete every single day, so [the competitiveness] hasn’t gone away, but I think the game, absolutely, I miss it,” Haley said. “And being able to do it one more time here in Vegas in front of everyone in this atmosphere is insane.”

With their playing days behind them and now brand founders and business owners, the two reflected on how basketball shaped them far beyond the court.

“I would say it’s taught me everything,” Haley said. “Showing up, being around people, being in an environment – no matter what, you have to go in with a great attitude, show up for your teammates. It teaches you so much discipline and commitment.”

She pushed back on the idea that life after sports is a difficult transition.

“Everyone’s like, you’re going to be scared about the real world,” Haley said. “This is the real world. You have to show up every single day as a college athlete, give it your all physically and mentally. Now it’s just—you do the same thing, but you apply it to the business world.”

Hanna emphasized the mental toughness basketball instilled in them.

“I think it’s showing up and being consistent mentally,” she said. “The sport taught me how to be so tough. You can handle anything in life if you can play a Division I sport and everything that comes with that.”

From backyard battles to now a speakeasy stage in Las Vegas, the Cavinder twins’ latest showdown is a reminder that while their careers have evolved, the competitive fire that basketball ignited continues to define who they are.
