Week 12 in the NFL features a game with huge playoff implications with the Buccaneers at Colts on Sunday. Online football betting odds have the Bucs as three-point favorites in this matchup. Both teams will be looking for a win to keep pace in their conferences.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers got back into the win column after two straight losses, and the Indianapolis Colts are riding a three-game winning streak. So let’s take a closer look at some of the best wagers for this game.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Gronk is back, and Tom Brady couldn’t be happier about the timing. Gronk was what Tampa Bay needed to stop their losing streak. And with Rob Gronkowski’s return, the Buccaneers are again a dangerous team in the NFC race.
After regaining the third seed in the conference, Tampa Bay has a short week to try and widen the gap on Dallas. But the test gets tougher with a visit to Indianapolis. Tampa Bay’s biggest challenge will be slowing down Jonathan Taylor.
The defense allowed 215 yards in total yards last week and only 66 yards on the ground. After giving up a winning drive the week before, it was a great effort, but the Buccaneers were playing the New York Giants.
In Week 12, after only six days to prepare, Tampa Bay faces a much stiffer challenge. Yet the Buccaneers do rank 1st against the run. With their top-ranked passing game, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers look like they match up well against the Colts.
Indianapolis Colts
Much of the success the Colts have had lately revolves around Jonathan Taylor. The star running back tallied 185 yards on the ground, with three catches and five TDs, against Buffalo last week. Taylor and the Colts shredded the Bills’ number one ranked defense in a 41-15 rout on the road.
But while Taylor is having an MVP caliber season, Carson Wentz has also impressed me. Wentz is having an efficient year with 18 touchdown passes and only three interceptions. In addition, having an effective running game opens up passing lanes.
Carson Wentz will look to Michael Pittman Jr. again as his favorite target. He only caught five balls in the big win against the Bills, but Pittman averages 13.2 yards per catch for the season for 752 yards.
The Colts are riding a three-game winning streak as they face another top contender in Week 12. Their middle-ranked defense will have to step up, though, to contain Tampa Bay’s high-powered offense. In their favor, the Colts have a +15 turnover ratio.
Time of possession will be critical for Indianapolis. If they continue running the ball with Taylor, they keep the ball out of Tom Brady’s hands longer.
Buccaneers at Colts (+3)
With all the offensive weapons on display in Week 12, I expect this one to be a shootout. The 52.5 over is very reachable. So I’m betting the over for this game.
The Indianapolis Colts are still +3 at home with a three-game streak going. Tom Brady is the best in the business, but I think the Colts are up to the challenge here. I will take the three points and bet on the Colts to cover the spread.
Best Bets for the Buccaneers at Colts
An extra day’s rest will help also benefit the Colts. So after a statement game in Buffalo, I expect them to repeat the performance. I also like the +130 Money Line for the Colts to win.
