The Seattle Seahawks will travel to play their NFC West rival, the Los Angeles Rams, in Week 15. The Rams are trying to stay in contention for the NFC West, while the Seahawks are trying to stay alive in the playoff race.
According to the NFL betting lines, the Rams are favored by 4.5 points. When these two teams played earlier this season, the Rams won by nine points, but this week, they placed several players on their COVID-19 list.
Let’s look at a spread pick and another exciting way to bet this Seahawks at Rams contest.
Los Angeles Rams -4.5 (-110)
The Rams started the season off with a 7-1 record. Then, they went on a three-game losing streak between November 7th and November 28th. Yet, they have won their last two games, including a win over a division rival, the Arizona Cardinals.
The last time the Rams played the Seahawks was on October 7th. In that game, Los Angeles won 26-17. Matt Stafford threw for 365 yards, one touchdown, and an interception in that game. The Rams put up 476 total yards.
Los Angeles has averaged 24.2 points in their last five games. I think we’ll see more of the same from this potent Rams offense in Week 15, even without Odell Beckham Jr.
Since getting Russell Wilson back from injury five games ago, the Seahawks offense has only averaged 18.2 points per game. That’s six points fewer than the Rams in that same span.
Wilson exited the game the last time these two teams played due to an injury. Even with him back, I still don’t see the Seahawks’ offense keeping up with the Rams’ offense. Neither team has a great ground game. Seattle has the 22nd-ranked rushing offense while the Rams are close behind, ranked 24th.
The significant discrepancy is in the passing attack. Seattle has the 24th-best passing offense, averaging 205.8 yards per game through the air. Meanwhile, Los Angeles has the 3rd-best air attack in the league, posting 287.3 yards per game.
With the Seahawks ranking last in the NFL in pass defense, allowing 278.9 passing yards per game, I believe the Rams should be able to move the ball at will.
Over 45 (-110)
The Seahawks have posted scores of 33 and 30 in their past two games.
The last time they played the Rams, the Seahawks only mustered 17 points, but the Rams’ defense was healthy in that game. This week, the Rams are missing cornerbacks Jalen Ramsey and Dont’e Deayon due to COVID-19 infections.
Also, Russell Wilson has thrown for 491 yards and four touchdowns in the last two games. I think Seattle can score at least three touchdowns given the crucial absences to an already weak Rams passing defense.
The Rams are a scoring machine. L.A.’s’ offense ranks fourth in points scored per game (28.2), and they’ve’ averaged 31.6 points over the last three games. This week, they will be without Odell Beckham Jr. due to a COVID-19 outbreak, but they still have plenty of weapons at their disposal, such as Cooper Kupp, who leads the league in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns.
Neither of these teams should have problems scoring points this week, making over 45 an attractive bet.
