There are plenty of Monday Night Football bets that offer value this week. The New England Patriots travel to Buffalo to take on the Bills, and first place in the AFC East is on the line. According to the NFL betting lines from BetMGM, the Buffalo Bills are three-point favorites in this matchup.
I think there’s some value to be found on the spread and the point total. Read on to find out more about the best bets for this huge Week 13 matchup.
New England Patriots Win by 1-6 Points (+340)
The Patriots vs. Bills game on MNF offers plenty of star power on offense, but it’s also a matchup between two of the NFL’s best defenses. Josh Allen, Mac Jones, and Stefon Diggs will grab all the headlines, but this game could be a low-scoring defensive battle.
The Patriots and Bills rank one and two in the NFL in interceptions. Buffalo has the sixth most sacks in the NFL this year, and the Patriots have the second-most sacks in the league over the last three weeks. This game will probably come down to a field goal, which is why I like this alternative bet on the Patriots winning by a touchdown or less.
Under 42.5 Points (-110)
Both of these teams have excellent defenses. The Patriots’ defense has been suffocating all year. They’ve allowed 30 or more points just one time this season (against the Cowboys in Week 6).
New England has been even more dominant over the past four weeks, however, allowing 13 points or fewer in four straight games. Meanwhile, Buffalo ranks 2nd in passing yards allowed per game, 6th in rushing yards allowed, and 2nd overall in points allowed. That’s why I like the under in this NFL Monday Night Football matchup.
Patriots +3 (-115)
The Buffalo Bills allowed 41 points to the Indianapolis Colts two weeks ago. The Bills allowed Colts running back Jonathan Taylor to run wild for 185 yards and four touchdowns in that game. The Patriots don’t have a running back of Taylor’s quality on their roster, but they do have the ninth-most rushing yards in the NFL.
The Patriots can score touchdowns on the ground too. They’ve racked up 14 rushing touchdowns this year, good for the seventh-best mark in the NFL. I think the New England Patriots are fully capable of winning this game outright, but it might be wise to play it safe with the spread.
Buffalo is playing at home, and that crowd will be one of the loudest that Mac Jones has experienced in his young NFL career. But, if the Patriots can run the ball, they’ll control the clock and keep the game close while also limiting the impact crowd noise will have on communication at the line of scrimmage.
Identifying the Best Monday Night Football Bets for Week 13
The Patriots once again look like the world-beaters that dominated the AFC for years. On the other hand, the Bills have stumbled in a few games over the past month. In addition, they aren’t as consistently dominant as they were last year.
For those reasons, I like the Patriots to either win by a field goal or lose by less than a field goal as my best Monday Night Football bets. You can find more online sports betting odds and NFL bets by visiting BetMGM. Sign up for an account today and place your bets on this season’s NFL action.
