The Best NFL Underdog Bets in Week 15

The 2021 NFL season is incredibly competitive. With the Arizona Cardinals’ loss on Monday night, no team has two losses or fewer in either conference. Additionally, there are only three teams with a 10-3 record. In the AFC, there are only five teams with a losing record. This parity is one of the reasons that the NFL is the most popular sports league in America.

And every week, there are NFL underdogs capable of knocking off favorites. Two underdogs catch my eye in this week’s football odds.

Read on to learn about the best NFL underdog bets in Week 15.

New England Patriots (+2.5) at Indianapolis Colts

One of the underdogs in Week 15 happens to be the hottest team in the NFL. The New England Patriots are winners of seven straight games, the longest winning streak in the NFL this season. New England is 9-4 and currently the top seed in the AFC playoff picture.

All four of the Pats’ losses have come on the road this season. This week, they’re playing on the road against a hot Indianapolis Colts team that’s 4-1 in their last five games.

You will not find many underdogs as good as Bill Belichick and the Patriots. The Patriots’ defense is ranked 3rd in the league in total yardage allowed and has given up 36 points in the past five games, a paltry 7.2 points per game average.

The Colts’ offense has struggled to pass the ball, ranking 21st in passing yards per game (216.4). Instead, they prefer to run the ball, and the Patriots have shown vulnerability against powerful rushing attacks.

The Pats rank 19th in rushing yards allowed, so they’re vulnerable to Jonathan Taylor, the league’s leading rusher.

Against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Colts quarterback Carson Wentz threw two interceptions in a 38-31 loss. While Wentz has played mostly clean this season (only throwing five interceptions), the Patriots’ defense ranks third with 26 takeaways.

I believe that New England’s defense will win the turnover battle and cover this 2.5 spread.

Seattle Seahawks (+4.5) at Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams are coming off their biggest win of the year. They knocked off the Arizona Cardinals on the road on Monday Night Football. At 9-4, they are in second place in the NFC West and hold a firm grip on the 5th seed in the playoff picture.

However, the Seattle Seahawks are winners of two consecutive games, including an impressive win over the 7-6 San Francisco 49ers.

Seattle’s wide receivers are excelling this season and allow the Seahawks an opportunity to score many points. Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf collectively have 1,776 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns.

The Rams also have 16 players on their reserve/COVID-19 list, including receiver Odell Beckham Jr., cornerbacks Jalen Ramsey and Dont’e Deayon, safety Jordan Fuller, right tackle Rob Havenstein, and running back Darrell Henderson.

The Rams defense ranks 20th in passing yards allowed per game (246.5) and 17th in points allowed (22.5).

Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson played well in the two previous games, throwing for four touchdowns and 491 yards combined. If that trend continues, Russ could have a big game against a weak Rams pass defense that’s missing some important players in the secondary.

Top NFL Underdog Bets for Week 15

There are certainly some good underdogs to choose from in NFL Week 15. It is not often that you get to select the top seed in the AFC as an underdog. The Seahawks are also worthy NFL underdogs this weekend.
