The Los Angeles Chargers sit one game back from the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West.

In Week 14, the Chargers return home to SoFi Stadium to take on the 4-8 New York Giants. According to the NFL betting lines from BetMGM, the Chargers are 10-point favorites in this matchup.

New York couldn’t get anything done on offense against the Dolphins in Week 13, but the Chargers’ defense could present an opportunity for the Giants’ running game to get back on track.

Read the article below to learn more about the Giants at Chargers game in Week 14.

Los Angeles Chargers -10 (-110)

The Los Angeles Chargers won by 19 points in Week 13 versus the Cincinnati Bengals. Now they face a Giants team that has already lost by ten or more points five times this season. The Giants have had a difficult time on both sides of the ball this season. Offensively, they rank 28th in points per game (17.6). In addition, they rank 18th on defense in points allowed per game (22.8).

Daniel Jones is reportedly unlikely to play in Week 14. Mike Glennon filled in for Jones in Week 13, but he suffered a concussion, and his status is in doubt.

If neither Jones nor Glennon can go, Jake Fromm would start for New York. The Giants recently signed Fromm off the Buffalo Bills practice squad. Glennon struggled last week, completing 23 or 44 passes for 187 yards and no touchdowns. Whether Jones, Glennon, or Fromm is the quarterback, I like the odds on Chargers -10.

Total Points Over 45.5 (-110)

Justin Herbert got the Chargers’ offense rolling against the Bengals, putting up 24 points in the first half. However, the Chargers’ defense allowed the Bengals to climb back into the game, as Los Angeles gave up 22 unanswered points in the second and third quarters.

The Chargers’ offense can light up the scoreboard at any time. They rank 9th in the NFL in points per game. However, the Chargers’ defense has been porous against the run.

Los Angeles has the second-worst run defense in the NFL in terms of rushing yards allowed per game, ahead of only the Houston Texans.

With Daniel Jones out, I believe the Giants will rely on their star running back, Saquon Barkley, against the Chargers’ poor run defense. He has a great chance to find running room against this Chargers run defense, allowing them to score enough points to push this game over.

Chargers Money Line and Over 42.5 (-105)

New York has pulled off some surprising wins against Philadelphia, Las Vegas, and Carolina this year, but those wins came at home. On the road, the Giants are just 1-5.

Daniel Jones likely won’t play on Sunday, and as discussed above, I don’t believe that the Giants’ defense can stop the Chargers, so I like the Chargers to win outright. The other half of this parlay is the point total. I like this alternative bet because I believe the Chargers will probably win, and it gives me three points of insurance off the game total.

Previewing the Giants at Chargers Matchup

While the Los Angeles Chargers defense leaves much to be desired, I don’t believe that the Giants have a quarterback right now who can take advantage. New York may pick up some significant gains on the ground, but I still expect the Chargers to win easily.
