The ACC has one team in BetMGM’s top 10 betting favorites to win the college football national championship, compared to five SEC teams, two Big Ten teams, one Big 12 team, and Notre Dame rounding it out at No. 10. Clemson is the No. 2 favorite behind Alabama.

This makes the Tigers the obvious favorite to win the ACC title when it comes to wagering on college football betting odds. They are a whopping -900 compared to North Carolina at No. 2 with +700 odds.

As the anticipated season is less than three months away, more college football betting lines are getting released, whether it’s Week 1 betting lines, how many wins a team will hit, or who the favorite is to win its conference championship

Clemson -900

Conference Schedule: vs. Georgia Tech, @ NC State, vs. Boston College, @ Syracuse, @ Pitt, vs. Florida State, @ Louisville, vs. Wake Forest

What to know: Clemson begins its life without Trevor Lawrence as still the heavy favorites to win the ACC title. The Tigers have won six straight conference championships dating back to 2015. They will be experienced on defense, but the question is what the offense looks like as sophomore quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei, a five-star recruit, takes the reins.

North Carolina +700

Conference Schedule: @ Virginia Tech, vs. Virginia, @ Georgia Tech, vs. Duke, vs. Florida State, vs. Miami, @ Pitt, @ NC State

What to know: Mack Brown has made an instant impact as UNC's head coach. After 3-9 and 2-9 seasons to end Larry Fedora's stint, the Tar Heels have gone 7-6 and 8-4 under Brown. With one of the best QBs in college football Sam Howell leading the charge, is the betting gap between Clemson and UNC of -900 to +700 too big?

Miami +800

Conference Schedule: vs. Virginia, @ North Carolina, vs. NC State, @ Pitt, vs. Georgia Tech, @ Florida State, vs. Virginia Tech, @ Duke

What to know: Right on the heels of UNC is Miami. The Hurricanes finished 8-3 overall and 7-2 in the ACC last year. They have the most returning production in the ACC and are tied for the second-most in the FBS with 91 percent overall. After scoring 34 points per game, Miami has the most returning offensive production in the FBS with 95 percent.

NC State +1800

Conference Schedule: vs. Clemson, @ Boston College, @ Miami, vs. Louisville, @ Florida State, @ Wake Forest, vs. Syracuse, vs. North Carolina

What to know: There’s a considerable drop in betting odds from Miami to NC State. The Wolfpack have to play all three teams ranked above them, two of which are at home. They will be one of the more experienced teams in the ACC with about 18 returning starters.

Louisville +2200

Conference Schedule: @ Florida State, @ Wake Forest, vs. Virginia, vs. Boston College, @ NC State, vs. Clemson, vs. Syracuse, @ Duke

What to know: Six of the Cardinals’ eight conference opponents are ranked below them, so they have a great shot to improve from last year’s 3-7 ACC record. Louisville will have one of the better offenses in the conference, but an inexperienced defense is a concern.

Virginia Tech +2500

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IR1YHvUrfow

Conference Schedule: vs. North Carolina, vs. Pitt, vs. Syracuse, @ Georgia Tech, @ Boston College, vs. Duke, @ Miami, @ Virginia

What to know: Virginia Tech gets its first three conference opponents in Blacksburg. That could lead to a quick start in the conference standings. But there are plenty of question marks on both sides of the ball after a 5-6 season.

Florida State +3500

Conference Schedule: @ Wake Forest, vs. Louisville, vs. Syracuse, @ North Carolina, @ Clemson, vs. NC State, vs. Miami, @ Boston College

What to know: Things have snowballed in the wrong direction for Florida State in the second half of the 2010s. The optimistic side says the second season under a new head coach is when you start to see improvements. Mike Norvell’s squad faces a challenging conference slate, including playing at Clemson and North Carolina, the No. 1 and 2 teams in these rankings.

Virginia +3500

Conference Schedule: @ North Carolina, vs. Wake Forest, @ Miami, @ Louisville, vs. Duke, vs. Georgia Tech, @ Pitt, vs. Virginia Tech

What to know: After reaching the ACC Championship Game in 2019, Virginia finished 4-5 in conference play last year. With a vulnerable secondary and inexperience at linebacker, Virginia has question marks on defense after allowing 30 points a game in 2020.

Pitt +4000

Conference Schedule: @ Georgia Tech, @ Virginia Tech, vs. Clemson, vs. Miami, @ Duke, vs. North Carolina, vs. Virginia, @ Syracuse

What to know: Pitt has been a middle-of-the-road team in the ACC standings. There have been a couple of 6-2 seasons in the second half of the 2010s, but the Panthers have mostly hovered around .500. They have to play the top three teams in these rankings, all of which are home games.

Boston College +6600

Conference Schedule: @ Clemson, vs. NC State, @ Louisville, @ Syracuse, vs. Virginia Tech, @ Georgia Tech, vs. Florida State, vs. Wake Forest

What to know: Jeff Hafley went 6-5 overall and 5-5 in ACC play in his first season as head coach last year. The Eagles should have a solid passing attack in 2021 after changing its offensive system in 2020.

Georgia Tech +6600

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0cwaUxBWIM

Conference Schedule: @ Clemson, vs. North Carolina, vs. Pitt, @ Duke, @ Virginia, vs. Virginia Tech, @ Miami, vs. Boston College

What to know: It's been a tough first two years for head coach Geoff Collins, although growing pains were expected as he changed the offensive philosophy from the triple option to a modern system. Georgia Tech has gone a combined 6-16 overall and 5-12 in conference play. Is year three when the Yellow Jackets rise in the standings?

Wake Forest +8000

Conference Schedule: vs. Florida State, @ Virginia, vs. Louisville, @ Syracuse, vs. Duke, vs. NC State, @ Clemson, @ Boston College

What to know: Wake Forest has been a pretty decent program in the last five years — owning a winning record four times, reaching a bowl game all five seasons, and winning three of those bowl games. The Demon Deacons have a good chunk of production returning, including 88 percent on offense.

Syracuse +10000

Conference Schedule: @ Florida State, vs. Wake Forest, vs. Clemson, @ Virginia Tech, vs. Boston College, @ Louisville, @ NC State, vs. Pitt

What to know: To put it simply, there’s a lot to fix after going 1-10 in 2020. The good news is there is enough production coming back (80 percent overall, 83 percent offense, 76 percent defense) for Syracuse to improve and win more than one game.

Duke +10000

Conference Schedule: @ North Carolina, vs. Georgia Tech, @ Virginia, @ Wake Forest, vs. Pitt, @ Virginia Tech, vs. Louisville, vs. Miami

What to know: Duke had back-to-back losing seasons for the first time since 2011 and 2012, going 5-7 and then 2-9 last year. The Blue Devils return 56 percent of their overall production, which ranks 104th in the FBS.
