Through four weeks, fans of the NFL have seen a lot. As the year progresses, each week brings different NFL betting opportunities to think about. To help you with your online sports betting and NFL betting picks, we highlight the biggest winners and losers of the young NFL season.

NFC Contenders

Green Bay Packers – Coming off an offseason that drew heavy criticism, the Green Bay Packers are actually off to a scalding start. Few expected them to start with such an impact, scoring at least 37 points in each of their first three games. The Packers are doing their part to hit the over when it comes to NFL betting lines.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers – With Tom Brady signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, many expected a good year. Many NFL onlookers also predicted some growing pains, a few pick-sixes have led to a few tough spots. However, the legendary clutch factor Brady possesses has helped the Bucs get out to a 3-1 start.

Seattle Seahawks – Undefeated through four weeks, the Seahawks look great offensively. However, their passing defense is last in the league. Good thing they have MVP-candidate Russell Wilson.

Los Angeles Rams – At 3-1, the Los Angeles Rams have enjoyed a great start to their season. Not only are they playing well, they celebrated the opening of their brand new extravagant SoFi Stadium, which opened in September.

AFC Contenders

Buffalo Bills – After making a splash this offseason, trading for Stefon Diggs from the Minnesota Vikings, nobody expected the Buffalo Bills to take such a sudden leap. They were wrong. At 4-0, the Bills are one of six teams who have yet to lose a game.

Pittsburgh Steelers – Prior to their Week 4 game getting postponed due to a COVID-19 breakout, the Pittsburgh Steelers were riding their bruising defense on their way to a 3-0 start. Having a healthy Ben Roethlisberger back has made a world of a difference in Pittsburgh.

Cleveland Browns – A coaching change from Freddie Kitchens to Kevin Stefanski has worked out well for the Cleveland Browns. This season, the Browns have scored the most points among teams in the AFC to get to a 3-1 start.

Baltimore Ravens – With Lamar Jackson at the helm, the Baltimore Ravens are set for another big year. Had it not been for them facing the Super Bowl-winning Kansas City Chiefs, the Ravens would likely be undefeated instead of 3-1.

Tennessee Titans – Sitting at 3-0, the Tennessee Titans have won each of their games by a grand total of six points. Six points or not, the NFL is a game measured by wins and losses, and that has the Titans in first place in the AFC South.

Indianapolis Colts – After signing NFL veteran Philip Rivers and trading for All-Pro DeForest Buckner in the offseason, many weren’t sure what to expect out of the Indianapolis Colts. Through four weeks, the early returns have been good. At 3-1, the Colts have allowed the least points in four games, and nobody else is even close.

Kansas City Chiefs – It’s hard to be an early-season winner when you are coming off a Super Bowl victory. But many teams have suffered what is known as a Super Bowl “hangover” after achieving greatness. Not the Kansas City Chiefs. At 4-0, they are just getting started. NFL odds suggest a repeat is possible.

Atlanta Falcons offenses lines against Carolina Panthers defense at Mercedes-Benz Stadium October 2020

NFC East Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, and Washington Football Team – With none of these teams having two wins yet, it seems nobody wants to represent the NFC East. Dallas has a great offense, but their defense can’t stop anything. The Giants lost their best player to a season-ending injury. Philadelphia, while they are atop the division, have not looked great on either side of the ball. Washington is experiencing growing pains with a young, inexperienced QB and a new coach in charge. It has been a struggle, to say the least for the NFC East.

Atlanta Falcons – At 0-4, the Atlanta Falcons are hurting. They seem to be able to score almost as many points as their opponent every game, but not more. Even when they do get out to a big lead, their defense has squandered it each game. The Falcons are the only team in NFL history to have lost two games in which they have led by 15 points or more in the fourth quarter in the same season.

New York Jets – At 0-4, the New York Jets are one of the worst teams in the entire NFL, if not the worst. They can’t score many points, and they can’t stop any teams from scoring plenty on them. With the worst point differential (-66) in the NFL, the Jets are in trouble.

Houston Texans – Bill O’Brien just took the fall for what has been a terrible start to the year in Houston, one few saw coming. At 0-4, the Texans will look to rebound, having just fired their head coach/general manager in O’Brien.

NFC MVPs

Russell Wilson Seattle Seahawks Quarterback – Third in the NFL in passing yards, and with his team undefeated, Russell Wilson is primed for an MVP year. NFL betting odds suggest he has a decent chance. He also leads the NFL in touchdown passes, yards per attempt, and completion percentage.

Dalvin Cook Minnesota Vikings Running Back – Though the Minnesota Vikings are off to a rougher start at 1-3, Dalvin has been Cookin’. Leading the NFL with 424 rushing yards, Cook has had back-to-back 100-yard games.

D.K. Metcalf Seattle Seahawks Wide Receiver – Tied for the NFL lead in receiving yards with 403 through four games, D.K. Metcalf is well on his way to earning his first Pro Bowl bid. At 6’4, 229 pounds with 4.3 speed, Metcalf has the athletic profile to be one of the best wide receivers to ever play the game.

Aldon Smith Dallas Cowboys Defensive End – Prior to the start of the 2020 season, Aldon Smith hadn’t played in an NFL game since 2015. Naturally, you would expect some rust after being away for so long. The Cowboys defensive end had other plans, getting a sack in his first game back. After four games, Smith is third in the NFL with four sacks so far.

AFC MVPs

Josh Allen Buffalo Bills Quarterback – After the Bills traded for Stefon Diggs, Josh Allen became an instant winner. With Allen second in the NFL in passing yards and the Bills undefeated, it's safe to say the move paid off.

Stefon Diggs Buffalo Bills Wide Receiver – Catching passes from budding superstar Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs is off to the best start of his six-year career. Tied for the league-lead with 403 receiving yards, Diggs is well on his way to making his first Pro Bowl team of his career.

Myles Garrett Cleveland Browns Defensive End – Last season, Myles Garrett had his season end early due to his disturbing suspension. Starting off with a vengeance, Garrett leads the NFL in sacks with five through four games.
