Reigning undisputed women’s featherweight champion Amanda Serrano defends her crown against undefeated challenger Reina Tellez on Jan. 3 at Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
As the late replacement opponent, Tellez heads into the title match as the overwhelming underdog with +1000 boxing odds. Meanwhile, Serrano, who despite riding back-to-back losses against Katie Taylor, is still going to be the heavy betting favorite with -2500 odds.

Amanda Serrano vs. Reina Tellez: Prediction
I predict a TKO/KO finish for Serrano against Tellez because she has more power in her punches and has a lot more variety in her punches. Although both have tremendous jabs, Serrano has more pop behind them.
Another major catalyst in this match is experience level, with Serrano having a massive edge, having fought in championship bouts and competed across several divisions for over a decade. Meanwhile, Tellez hasn’t fought for a world title.
Lastly, Tellez is a late replacement opponent for Serrano. Erika Cruz was the original opponent for the Puerto Rican boxing superstar, but she was forced out of the main event after failing a doping test. Three weeks of preparation for Tellez won’t get her the job done against Serrano.
Amanda Serrano’s Recent Fight Results
Serrano has dropped her last two fights against Katie Taylor in close fights in the super lightweight division, but she remains the featherweight queen. Before her defeats to Taylor, Serrano had fended off the challenges from Heather Hardy, Danila Ramos, and Stevie Morgan.
Reina Tellez’s Recent Fight Results
Tellez is an undefeated pro boxer who captured the North American Boxing Federation bantamweight title. In her last five fights, she scored victories against Wendellin Cruz, Jermesha Poke, Perla Lomeli, Maria Salinas, and Mayela Perez.
