Shields was a former two-time Olympic gold medalist who represented the United States before turning pro in November 2016. She won her pro debut against Franchon Crews Dezurn via decision and quickly collected several world titles in two weight divisions.

She became the undisputed middleweight champion of the world and defended her title several times before moving up to the heavyweight division in 2023, capturing the WBC, WBF, and WBO belts. In her last fight last February, she unified all the titles and captured the IBF belt against Danielle Perkins.

Daniels was a national boxing champion in New Zealand and captured several amateur titles before she turned pro in September 2017. Early in her career, Daniels captured the middleweight national title before she moved up to the light heavyweight division.

Then won the IBF heavyweight title in May 2023, but relinquished it immediately to move down to the light heavyweight division. In December 2023, she secured the IBF light heavyweight title and defended it against Bolatito Oluwole in her most recent match last September.
