Due to his stacked resume as a former two-time heavyweight champion, Joshua heads into the match as the betting favorite with -400 boxing odds, while Dubois, despite being the titleholder, will be the +300 underdog.
Daniel Dubois Recent Fight Results
Dubois is a young heavyweight boxer with a respectable record of 21 wins, including 20 TKO/KOs, and two losses. Before winning his first major title, he captured various minor titles like the BBBofC Southern Area Heavyweight title, BBBofC English Heavyweight title, WBO European Heavyweight title, WBO Global Heavyweight title, and the WBO Intercontinental Heavyweight title.
The fighter, also known as โDynamite,โ has won four of his last five bouts, earning victories against Trevor Bryan (in June 2022 via fourth-round K.O.), Kevin Lerena (in December 2022 via third-round TKO), Jarrell Miller (in December 2023 via 10th-round TKO), and most recently, Filip Hrgovic (in June 2024 via eighth-round TKO). His lone loss during this stretch was to Oleksandr Usyk in August 2023 via ninth-round K.O.
Anthony Joshua Recent Fight Results
Joshua was a former two-time lineal heavyweight champion of the world. He became the divisionโs titleholder in March 2018 when he defeated Joseph Parker to capture the IBF, IBO, and WBO World Heavyweight titles. He yielded the belts to Andy Ruiz in June 2019 via a shocking seventh-round knockout but immediately recaptured it six months later with a unanimous decision.
Like Dubois, Joshua has won four of his last five fights and defeated the likes of Jermaine Franklin Jr. (in April 2023 via unanimous decision), Robert Helenius (in August 2023 via seventh-round K.O.), Otto Wallin (in December 2023 via fifth-round retirement), and most recently, Francis Ngannou (in March via second-round K.O.). โA.J.โsโ only defeat during this period was also courtesy of Uysk (in August 2022 via split decision).

Daniel Dubois vs. Anthony Joshua: Fight Analysis
The tape reveals that Joshua is the taller and longer fighter. The challenger Joshua is also seven years older, which means the defending champion has more experience and championship mileage.
Dubois, on the other hand, has a better TKO/KO rate (95%), compared to Joshua (89%). But this doesnโt automatically mean he is more powerful than the challenger since they faced different competition and opponents throughout their professional careers. Joshua fought tougher opponents, with all due respect to Duboisโ pile of wins.
Both are fighting with an orthodox stance and since they are heavyweight contenders, the margin of error for both boxers is slim because one punch can change the complexity of the match. Undoubtedly, they are more than capable of knocking each other out with a single clean strike. So, it all comes down to their fight plan and execution on fight night.
For Dubois, he needs to move forward and immediately impose his will. He needs to close the gap between him and Joshua as he has a shorter reach. Once he gets into his range, Dubois needs to fire off stiff jabs and combinations to earn the respect of the challenger. Furthermore, he will have a better chance of landing his vicious punches.
Meanwhile, Joshua should be the more patient boxer and pick his shots. He has applied this strategy in his previous fights and found enormous success. He has developed a solid counter-striking technique that catches his opponents off-guard, and most of the time, he scores a knockdown against them. His most significant advantage over Dubois is his quickness and being light on his feet, and I believe it will be the deciding factor in this world heavyweight clash.
