The vacant IBF Inter-Continental heavyweight title will be on the line on Saturday, as Dave Allen and Filip Hrgovic battle it out inside Keepmoat Stadium in Doncaster.

Because of his better pro record, Hrgovic is going to be the betting favorite with -660 boxing odds, while Allen, who already has eight losses in his record, will be the betting underdog with +500 odds. A draw result has odds of +1800.

Dave Allen vs. Filip Hrgovic: Prediction

Given Hrgovic’s considerable height and reach advantages, my prediction is a decision victory for him over Allen. Hrgovic is very good at fully using his full length to keep opponents at bay and connect punches at a safe distance, especially when they’re shorter than him.

The Croatian boxing star’s best punch is his straight-hand punch, as it goes through the guard of his opponents. With Allen easily obliging to forward pressure, I believe Hrgovic will be able to trap him against the ropes before firing his combinations.

But Allen’s toughness and solid defence will allow him to survive throughout the fight and see the judges’ scorecards. A knockdown should not be a surprise, especially if Allen overextends and Hrgovic times a perfect counterpunch.
