Current WBO cruiserweight world champion Gilberto Ramirez puts his title on the line against undefeated boxing star David Benavidez on Saturday, as they headline the boxing event inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Even though he’s the defending champion, Ramirez will be the betting underdog heading into the showdown with +300 boxing odds. Meanwhile, Benavidez is going to be the -360 betting favorite. A draw result has odds of +1600.

Gilberto Ramirez vs. David Benavidez: Prediction
The speed and output of Benavidez are the reasons why I predict a TKO/KO victory for him over Ramirez. Even though Ramirez is the natural cruiserweight fighter, the quickness of Benavidez will be the main catalyst in this match.
Benavidez will likely press Ramirez against the ropes, and that’s where he’ll start throwing combinations after combinations until Ramirez crumbles to this wave of punches. The only thing Benavidez should be cautious of is the counters from Ramirez, as his power still remains a major threat.
Another big factor to consider here is the cardio of Benavidez, as he’s very economical with his energy and doesn’t blow himself out. Ramirez, on the other hand, has seen a decline in stamina since his move up in weight, likely due to the added weight.
Gilberto Ramirez’s Recent Fight Results
Ramirez is the reigning WBO cruiserweight world champion. He’s on a four-fight win streak since his move to the 200-pound weight class, with victories against Joe Smith Jr., Arsen Goulamirian, Chris Billam-Smith, and Yuniel Dorticos. His only career defeat was courtesy of Dmitry Bivol.
David Benavidez’s Recent Fight Results
Benavidez was the former WBC light heavyweight world champion. His last five wins were against Caleb Plant, Demetrius Andrade, Oleksandr Gvozdyk, David Morrell, and Anthony Yarde. He now moves up in weight to the cruiserweight division.
