An all-Japanese boxing world title match will headline the event on Saturday at the Tokyo Dome, as Naoya Inoue defends his unified super bantamweight title against compatriot Junto Nakatani.

Even though both are undefeated world champions, Inoue heads into the championship clash as the considerable betting favorite with -400 boxing odds, while Nakatani is going to be the +300 betting underdog. A draw result has odds of +1600.

Naoya Inoue vs. Junto Nakatani: Prediction

I predict a decision victory for Inoue over Nakatani, as he’s the better overall boxer and will have the speed advantage. Both have devastating power in their punches and have a one-punch knockout ability, but the quickness of Inoue will spell the biggest difference.

Nakatani may have a crisp counterpunch, but if Inoue remains light on his feet and moves in and out quickly, he won’t be able to land them. Knowing that it’ll be a major stamp to his legacy, I think Inoue won’t fight recklessly and will not hunt for a knockout finish.

Aside from the edge in speed and movement, another major factor to consider is Inoue’s championship experience, as he has faced several adversities and knows how to rise to the occasion without crumbling under the bright lights.

Naoya Inoue’s Recent Fight Results

Inoue is a four-division boxing world champion and the current undisputed super bantamweight king. His last five victories were against TJ Doheny, Ye Joon Kim, Ramon Cardenas, Murodjon Akhmadaliev, and David Picasso.

Junto Nakatani’s Recent Fight Results

Nakatani is a three-division boxing world champion and was the former IBF and WBC bantamweight titleholder before he moved up in weight. He defeated Vincent Astrolabio, Tasana Salapat, David Cuellar Contreras, Ryosuke Nishida, and Sebastian Hernandez Reyes in his past five matches.
