Raymond Muratalla vs. Andy Cruz: Prediction

My prediction is a unanimous decision win for Cruz over Muratalla because he’s a very good counterpuncher, and his style is perfect for the aggressive, forward-moving approach of the defending champion.

Cruz is very picky and technical in his shots, which is why he’s also very accurate with them. He perfectly times counters in between his opponent’s combinations. Muratalla uses his jabs to set up his atomic right-hand punch, but I believe that Cruz can fire a solid in between that sequence.

Unless Muratalla sneaks in a power punch against Cruz and hurts him, it’ll be a counterpunching masterclass from the former Olympic gold medalist, as he’ll fully maximize his footwork and speed to frustrate Muratalla throughout the fight.

Raymond Muratalla’s Recent Fight Results

Muratalla was the former IBF interim lightweight champion before he was elevated to the full title holder in June. He’s still undefeated, and his last five victories were against Diego Torres Nunez, Xolisani Ndongeni, Tevin Farmer, Jesus Antonio Perez Campos, and Zaur Abdullaev.

Andy Cruz’s Recent Fight Results

Cruz was the Olympic gold medalist in the 63kg category at the 2020 Tokyo Games before transitioning to the pro ranks. He swept all his six pro fights so far and scored wins over Juan Carlos Burgos, Jovanni Straffon, Brayan Zamarripa Rodriguez, Antonio Moran, Omar Salcido Gamez, and Hironori Mishiro.
