Undefeated WBA women’s lightweight champion Stephanie Han will welcome the challenge of former three-division boxing world champion Holly Holm on Jan. 3 at Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

As the younger and more active fighter, Han will head into the championship fight as the betting favorite with -200 boxing odds. On the other hand, Holm is going to be the betting underdog with +175 odds.

Stephanie Han vs. Holly Holm: Prediction

My prediction is a unanimous decision win for Han over Holm, primarily because of the substantial speed difference and the fact that Holm will go down in weight for this fight.

Despite Han getting dropped in her previous fight, Holm still doesn’t have the speed to catch the defending champion with a counter during exchanges. Also, based on her comeback fight against Yolanda Vega, Holm is now a step slower.

The only route that I see for Holm to pull off an upset against Han is to make the fight dirty, pull her close to distance, and force her to fight in a tight range. However, I don’t think it will happen because Han prefers to fight at range and will likely use her speed advantage.

Stephanie Han’s Recent Fight Results

Han is the reigning WBA women’s lightweight champion, who’s still undefeated in 11 pro fights. In her last five fights, she defeated Wendellin Cruz, Michaele Nogue, Miranda Reyes, Hannah Terlep, and most recently, Paulina Angel.

Holly Holm’s Recent Fight Results

Holm is a 2022 International Boxing Hall of Fame inductee and a former three-division boxing world champion before transitioning to MMA and becoming a UFC champion. Last August, she successfully returned to the ring and defeated Vega via unanimous decision.
