- Brazil played the best soccer of the tournament so far against South Korea.
- Croatia has looked sluggish and will be fatigued after their win against Japan.
- Brazil should win this game comfortably.
Brazil finally showed why they are the favorite for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in the 4-1 demolishing of South Korea on Monday.
This wasn’t just a performance. It was a statement. It was soccer filled with unbridled joy from a nation where it’s almost a religion.
On the other hand, Croatia has been sluggish and needed to go to penalties to get past Japan in the Round of 16. Can this team put a damper on the emphatic style shown by the Brazilians? Or will The Seleção run riot over Zlatko Dalic’s side?

Brazil vs. Croatia Analysis
Brazil’s game against South Korea was poetry in motion, and it was difficult not to feel sympathy for Son Heung-min and his team.
Tite’s squad got through the Group Stages fairly easily, but it felt like Brazil only really arrived at the tournament on Monday. There was singing, there was dancing, and there were goals galore.
This was a simply spectacular team performance. The return of Neymar was the highlight before the game, but he had to share the plaudits with Richarlison, Lucas Paqueta, and Vinicius Jr.
Not only is this Brazilian team extraordinarily talented, but they also go into the quarterfinals well-rested. The game against South Korea was over by halftime, and Tite could rest of his key players again. He even gave goalkeeper Alisson a rest, as third-choice keeper, Weverton came on for the final 10 minutes.
This makes Brazil the only team to have used every player on their 26-man squad in the World Cup so far.
Considering how well-rested Brazil comes into this game, I can’t help but feel sorry for Croatia.
In complete contrast, this team barely scraped through the Group Stage, played 120 minutes of soccer, and then had to go to penalties to get past a spirited Japan side.
Only three goalkeepers in history have saved three penalties in a #FIFAWorldCup penalty shootout.

Two of them have played for #Croatia.
Both were born in the city of Zadar.

Zlatko Dalic’s team has certainly not blown me away in this tournament, and I think they are lucky to have gotten this far. Although they are the last tournament’s runners-up, this team seems to be short on energy and ideas.
I believe Joško Gvardiol has been Croatia’s best player so far, but as a defender, he will have his hands full with this Brazillian attacking force.
I just don’t see any situation in which Croatia will win this game. Brazil is simply too good and has far more ingenuity on the pitch.
I don’t expect Croatia to be completely dismantled, but Brazil should easily get through to the semifinals.
