In losing to the Tennessee Titans, 26-15, in Week 3, the Indianapolis Colts fell to 0-3 and were facing ominous NFL history. Of the 152 teams to start 0-3 since 1990, only four made the playoffs.
Five weeks later, the Colts have won three of their last four, including a 30-18 road win over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7. Now at 3-4 entering a Week 8 home rematch against the Titans, the Colts’ historical outlook is more promising. Thirty-six of the 201 teams to start 3-4 since 1990 made the playoffs.
