Last week, Wentz threw for two touchdown passes and over 200 yards against the flailing Texans. He hasn’t thrown an interception in his previous four games, and only one all season.

On Sunday night, Wentz will be facing a 49ers team that will have to rely on their defense. It’ll be a good test for a quarterback who’s trying to keep the Colts alive in the AFC South.

So, Carson Wentz may have a breakout game against the 49ers in Week 7. He’ll need to play exceptionally well against a defense that is going to be rested and ready.

I believe that Wentz will have at least a few big plays if the 49ers can’t mask their blitz packages.

The Colts Are Gaining Momentum on Offense

With Jonathan Taylor as a threat out of the backfield and Michael Pittman Jr. on a deep route, the Colts can score quickly against any defense in the league right now.

Carson Wentz has even connected with Mo Alie-Cox, a 2018 undrafted free agent, who has caught three touchdown passes in the last three games.

T.Y. Hilton (a 2012 draft pick) also caught four passes for 80 yards against the Texans.

Additionally, Zach Pascal (another 2018 acquisition) has caught 18 passes for 204 yards and three touchdowns this year.

Wentz is spreading the ball around with high proficiency. If he can boost his accuracy while the offensive line improves, I believe he can have a great game against the 49ers this week.
