In Week 6, one of the top matchups looks to be when the Arizona Cardinals (5-0) will take on the Cleveland Browns (3-2). So far this year, the Browns are undefeated at home, scoring an average of 28.5 points in those two games.

The latest NFL betting odds have the Browns as -3 favorites.

Let’s break down the scoring potential of the Browns in Week 6 against the best team in the NFL.

What Happens to the Browns Last Week?

Last week, the Browns lost in a wild game with the Los Angeles Chargers. Quarterback Baker Mayfield had a solid game, throwing for 305 yards with one touchdown pass. But the Browns were even more unstoppable on the ground.

Nick Chubb rushed for 161 yards and one touchdown, while Kareem Hunt had 12 carries for 61 yards and two scores.

The Browns piled up 531 total yards, dominated the time of possession, and averaged 7.8 yards per play in their 47-42 defeat by the Chargers. The Browns are now tied with the Chargers for the most points in the AFC this season, at 142 each.

Strangely enough, in Week 4, the Browns only scored 14 points in their road victory against the Minnesota Vikings. So their offense showed that it could be hot and cold.

How many points can the Cleveland Browns score at home against one of the top defenses in the NFC?

Cardinals vs. Browns

Last season, the Cardinals allowed just under 23 points per game. After going undefeated in their first five games, they’ve held their opponents to an average of 19 points per game.

The Cardinals will have to play some excellent defense to stop the Browns this week and remain undefeated. That was how they won last week against the San Francisco 49ers, earning their top spot in the NFC West.

For the Cardinals vs. Browns, the current over-under rests at 50 points. That would put the Browns’ scoring potential at just below average.

How many points can the Cleveland Browns score?

Their over-under odds are at -105 for over 26.5/under 25.5. So will the Browns score exactly 26 points against the Cardinals?

Well, the Cardinals at home scored 34 points against the Vikings, a mediocre defense, back in Week 2. So why couldn’t the Browns?

They certainly made a mockery of the Chargers’ defense last week, scoring 42 points on the road.

This week, the Browns return home after two away games. In their last game at home, they scored exactly 26 points against the Chicago Bears.

So, they’ve shown themselves to be capable of putting up a decent amount of points against a solid defense. However, they’ll get their biggest test in Week 6 against the top-tier Cardinals.

Cleveland Browns: Week 6 Scoring Prediction

It all comes down to for Cleveland Browns is their ability to play well consistently. Unfortunately, their current scoring odds at under 24.5 (+100) and over 25.5 (-120) show that they’re expected to have a slightly below-average game.

I think that sounds about right. But, of course, whether or not the Browns can beat the Cardinals is a whole other story.
