Iowa is not a regular feature on the College GameDay schedule.

The flagship ESPN show has only been to Iowa City three times, including the upcoming show from Week 5 of the 2026 college football season.

When Was the Last Time College GameDay Went to Iowa?

Believe it or not, it’s been 20 years since Iowa has hosted College GameDay.

The show’s last appearance in Iowa City came in Week 5 of the 2006 college football season, when No. 13 Iowa hosted No. 1 Ohio State in the middle of the Jim Tressel era. Ohio State won 38-17.

All three College GameDay visits to Iowa have been for Ohio State games. So far, Iowa is 0-2 in those games, and BetMGM has Iowa football odds as a big underdog again this weekend.
