Sorry, this isn’t a college basketball preview. Yes, this blog post has the odds for the high-stakes College Football Playoff game where No. 1 Indiana will be taking on a plucky underdog that everyone thinks will be completely overmatched: Alabama.

It’s okay to be confused. This is a safe space.

Indiana vs. Alabama Odds

  • Point Spread: Indiana -7
  • Moneyline: Indiana -250  |  Alabama +200
  • Total: 48.5

Indiana vs. Alabama: Rose Bowl Playoff Game

Indiana is the last remaining undefeated team in Div. I college football. (Sorry, North Dakota State.)

Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza will try to avoid the rusty blowout that No. 1 Oregon suffered last year in the inaugural round of the 12-team playoff. He’ll be facing an Alabama defense that’s good, but not great, against the pass.

On offense, Alabama tends to play pretty one-dimensionally through the arm of quarterback Ty Simpson. The Crimson Tide rank 101st in EPA/rush and 131st in rushing success rate.

Expect head coach Curt Cignetti and the Indiana defense to disguise coverages, simulate blitzes, and just generally do exotic things to keep Simpson off balance. For Alabama to win, Simpson has to play the best game of his career.
