  • Kansas football (+30000) is not expected to compete for the Big 12 title.
  • The Kansas football win total is set at 2.5, with -135 juice on the over.
  • Kansas has won at least one Big 12 game in three of its previous four seasons.

Another year of college football has arrived, and with it comes a massive cache of NCAAF odds

One of the great things about college football betting odds is that there are so many teams to evaluate.

With 131 schools ready to play FBS football in 2022, there are loads of valuable win totals to bet if you’re willing to examine every team and price closely.

Perhaps you see where I’m going with this.

It’s 2022, and we’re betting the over on the Kansas football win total.

What Is the 2022 Kansas Football Win Total?

At the BetMGM online sportsbook, the 2022 Kansas win total is set at 2.5, with -135 juice on the over.

Bettors can buy the under position at +115.

Big 12 Odds: Kansas Not Expected to Compete

The Big 12 is one of the most fascinating conferences to handicap in 2022 because nearly any team in the conference could win it.

Oklahoma and Baylor are two of the Big 12 favorites, depending on who you ask. But most of the other teams are absolutely live to win it.

Texas – the No. 2 betting favorite at +275 – has a new coach and a new, highly-rated starting quarterback.

TCU (+1200) brings back a ton of talent.

West Virginia (+2800) fixed its most glaring issue – ineffective quarterback play – via Georgia transfer JT Daniels. They’re good at the line of scrimmage, too.

Kansas State (+1200) and Iowa State (+1800) are getting some real darkhorse buzz from intelligent handicappers.

Kansas is the only team that the betting markets say is way out of it. The Jayhawks are currently priced at +30000.

Such a price is obviously a comment on the expected competitiveness of the Jayhawks in a conference that annually features heavy top-to-bottom competition, but it’s also a marketplace reality after 15 years of futility.

In short: No one wants to bet Kansas to win anything that matters. And it’s hard to blame bettors for that.

Kansas Football Win Total Prediction

Fortunately, there’s a huge difference between betting on the Jayhawks to win the conference and betting on them to win three games.

I’m recommending a play on the Kansas win total at Over 2.5 (-135).

Tennessee Tech and Duke are clearly inferior teams and should be no-sweat wins for the Jayhawks.

That means that Over 2.5 bettors only need one conference win (or a win versus Houston!) to cash the ticket.

For this bet, it’s worth keeping in mind that Kansas – as bad as it’s been the last few years – has earned at least one Big 12 win in three of the previous four seasons.

And remember: This should be the best team Kansas fields in several years.

This week, I invited handicapper Colby Dant (from the College Football Experience podcast) onto my own podcast for BetMGM, The Lion’s Edge.

Dant walked me through a number of his favorite bets for the 2022 college football season, and we agreed on Kansas. In fact, he’s probably higher on the Jayhawks than I am.

“I said this comment, and I know people will laugh at me,” Dant said. “I’m not calling for them to [reach a bowl game], but I wouldn’t be surprised if they got to [six wins].
