The 2023 College Football Playoff will be the 10th and final playoff with a four-team field. Starting in 2024, the playoff will include 12 teams, as approved by College Football Playoff Board of Managers in early December 2022.
The 2023 playoff field won’t be determined until Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023 – one day after conference championships conclude – but the locations and dates for the three games were determined years ago.
Where Are the 2023 College Football Playoff Games?
The two playoff semifinals – Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl – are scheduled for Jan. 1, 2024, at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena and Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, respectively.
The national championship is scheduled for Jan. 8, 2024, at NRG Stadium in Houston.
It will be the fourth time hosting a semifinal for both the Rose Bowl and Mercedes-Benz Superdome. But it will be the first time NRG Stadium – formerly Reliant Stadium – hosts the national championship.
