Essential Sports Betting Strategy Tips in NFL Week 10

Week 10 NFL

Last week was a strange one for NFL betting lines. There were about half a dozen upsets, including a Buffalo Bills (5-3) loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-6).

This week, it’ll be essential to develop an overall sports betting strategy to maintain your bankroll in the weeks that follow.

Let’s take a look at some tips for your wagers in NFL Week 10.

Best Sports Betting Strategy: Keep Your Emotions in Check

The best sports betting strategy after a tough week might be to keep your emotions in check. Whenever you are betting on NFL games, you are taking a risk.

Like when the Tennessee Titans won on the road without their star running back, Derrick Henry. Who could’ve seen that coming?

Everybody’s talking about the Titans this week. Can they hold their own against the New Orleans Saints?

I like the Saints getting three points on the road this week. But if you’re a Titans fan, why not take the money line at -150?

One of the more even-keeled bets this week, however, might come from the Baltimore Ravens. They will be hosting the Miami Dolphins, who are among the worst teams in the NFL. The Dolphins could be without starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, too.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-9.5) might also be a sure bet in Week 10. After a bye week, they’ll be facing the Washington Football Team.

Or how about the Arizona Cardinals (-10) at home versus the Carolina Panthers? I’d even like the over in that game at 44.5.

In their last six matchups, the Panthers gave up almost 26 points per game. So without Sam Darnold and with an ailing Christian McCaffrey — I’d say the Panthers might be vulnerable.

The Cardinals have an excellent chance to repeat their impressive performance from last week, even without their top offensive players.

Don’t Chase Your Losses and Find the Most Value for Your Bets

Another common sports betting strategy: don’t chase your losses. That means you’ll want to keep your bankroll intact. Another thing to consider after a lousy week might be to place your wagers early.

That way, you could get the most value for your bets.

Some early lines that look worthwhile include the New England Patriots (-1.5) at home or the Philadelphia Eagles (+2.5) on the road.

The Pats are a rising team in the AFC wild-card race with a money line at -125 against the Cleveland Browns (who could be without running backs, Nick Chubb and Demetric Felton).

They might even be able to win the AFC East after the Bills’ loss last week.

For the Eagles, the current money line against the Denver Broncos sits at +120. So if that could hit, it might help to make up for any bad losses last week.

The Broncos pulled off one of the biggest upsets in Week 10 when they defeated the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington, 30-16. But they have a better away record this year.

Likewise for the Eagles. So, I’d take that value for the Birds on the road.

Take a Few Chances This Week

Sometimes a risky bet isn’t such a bad thing. That’s where you’ll get the best payouts. Of course, hindsight is 20/20, but taking a few chances could result in better returns for any underdog wagers.

The Atlanta Falcons are 3-1 on the road. After beating the Saints last week, they’ll be facing the Cowboys in Week 10.

Can the Falcons cover at nine-and-a-half? Or would you be willing to take a +325 money line?

How about +400 for the Jags on the road against the Indianapolis Colts? I don’t see that one happening.

But the point is to balance your conservative approach to sports betting with some risk and volatility.
