As teams move into the second half of the season, NFL betting always gets tighter. But after last week’s surprises, intrigue reigns for NFL ATS picks.
Several teams in playoff contention are still underdogs for NFL Week 10 games, yet others are trying to climb out of holes they have dug for themselves. Teams that are trying to establish identities also factor into NFL ATS picks this week.
So for some interesting NFL bets, have a look at the spread in these games.
Bills vs. Jets (+13)
The Jets always seem to play the Bills tough. But, the season stats comparison suggests that Buffalo shouldn’t have any issues with the New York Jets. Yet after last week’s clunker against the Jaguars, I don’t have much confidence in the Bills.
While the Buffalo coaching staff tries to sort out the offense, the Jets come off a bye week. Playing a team they know well, a rested squad at home makes for an intriguing wager against the spread.
I don’t expect the Jets to win this game, but I like New York to cover 13 points on Sunday.
Lions vs. Steelers (-8.5)
The good news for Detroit fans is they didn’t lose last week. But jokes aside, Dan Campbell is taking a positive approach looking forward. With an extra week to prepare for Pittsburgh, players have had a chance to heal.
The Lions can generate offense, but they have trouble in the red zone. The Pittsburgh Steelers have had similar problems scoring. Even though the Steeler defense is 8th in the NFL, they can’t close games out early.
I see another close-scoring game for Pittsburgh in this NFL Week 10 matchup. So I’m going to take 8.5 against the spread and bet on the Lions to cover.
Vikings vs. Chargers (-2.5)
After two close losses, the Minnesota Vikings are somehow still in the hunt for a playoff spot, which would explain why this is one of the closest NFL spreads this week.
Without DT Justin Jones, the Chargers ranked last in the NFL in rushing defense. And the Chargers gave up 178 rushing yards to Philadelphia last week. So the Vikings, ranked 9th in rushing, will likely exploit that weakness.
The Chargers are 5-3, but they are escaping from too many close games. Minnesota will come in hungry after close losses to the Cowboys and the Ravens.
The Vikings are better than their record reflects, so I’m taking Minnesota in my NFL bets to cover against the spread.
Seahawks vs. Packers (-3.5)
Two elite quarterbacks are set to return to the lineup for NFL Week 10. But with social media buzzing, it’s hard to tell how the Packers will react. A disappointing effort against the Chiefs does not bode well for this week.
The bye week also helped Seattle prepare for this big game. Pete Carroll hopes this new test for the second half will give his team the urgency they need.
I expect this game to go down to the final seconds. No matter who wins, I believe it will be by a field goal, so I’m betting on Seattle to cover against the spread.
Week 10 NFL ATS Picks
If the NFL has proven anything this year, it’s to expect the unexpected.
The second half of the season will present more NFL ATS picks that don’t seem to work on paper. But as the saying goes, that’s why they play the games.
And I’m looking forward to another week of surprises in NFL Week 10 action. So how do you feel about NFL betting for this week’s games? Place your bets with an account at BetMGM’s sports betting site today.
