Current WBO super middleweight boxing world champion Hamzah Sheeraz defends his crown for the first time, as he welcomes the challenge of Simon Zachenhuber on Saturday inside the Jeddah Superdome in Saudi Arabia.

As the undefeated defending champion, Sheeraz enters the match as the heavy betting favorite with -2000 boxing odds, while Zachenhuber is going to be the +900 betting underdog. A draw result has odds of +2500.

Hamzah Sheeraz vs. Simon Zachenhuber: Prediction

My prediction is a TKO/KO win for Sheeraz over Zachenhuber, as he’s the more powerful puncher and displays more variety in his attacks. Even though Sheeraz will have the advantage in height and reach, he’s still expected to close the distance.

Sheeraz thrives in close-range battles because he overwhelms his opponents with heavy hooks and uppercuts that cut through their guard. The defending champion spams these combinations until they get used to a high-guard defense.

Once they defend these hooks and uppercuts, Sheeraz then targets his opponents’  bodies with liver shots and body punches to fold them. This was the same strategy the British fighter used to become a boxing world champion.

Hamzah Sheeraz’s Recent Fight Results

Sheeraz is the reigning WBO super middleweight world champion. He has recorded four wins and one draw in his last five bouts, with victories over Austin Williams, Tyler Denny, Edgar Berlanga, and Alem Begic. Meanwhile, his fight with Carlos Adames ended in a draw.

Simon Zachenhuber’s Recent Fight Results

Zachenhuber is a former IBF European super middleweight champion. In his last five appearances inside the ring, the German fighter has racked up four wins (Robert Talarek, Leonardo Di Stefano, Paulinus Ndjolonimu, and Armin Ajrulai) and one loss (Pawel August).
