Reigning WBC interim super lightweight champion Isaac Cruz defends his title for the second time, as he welcomes the challenge from Nestor Bravo on Saturday inside Pechanga Arena in San Diego.

As the defending titleholder, Cruz heads into the championship clash as the heavy betting favorite with -580 boxing odds, while Bravo, who’s coming off a bounce-back win, is going to be the overwhelming betting underdog with +450 odds. A draw result has odds of +1800.

Isaac Cruz vs. Nestor Bravo: Prediction

I predict a decision win for Cruz over Bravo because he’s the volume puncher who walks opponents down. Cruz has been swarming opponents with power combinations to the head and body until they succumb.

Bravo, on the other hand, is a rangy boxer who maximizes his height and reach advantages. He’s also a solid counterpuncher, but I don’t think he’ll get the opportunity to counter Cruz as much as he wants, because he’ll be forced to cover up when Cruz lets go of his hands.

The only problem with Cruz right now is his cardio because ever since he moved up to the 140-pound weight class, he seems to slow down in the late rounds due to the added weight. In fact, he has only scored one stoppage win since moving up.

Isaac Cruz’s Recent Fight Results

Cruz is a two-division boxing world champion and is the reigning WBC interim super lightweight champion. In his last five bouts, he scored wins over Rolando Romero, Angel Fierro, and Omar Salcido Gamez, lost to Jose Valenzuela, and drew with Lamont Roach.

Nestor Bravo’s Recent Fight Results

Bravo was the former WBO NABO super lightweight champion. He recorded three wins (Will Madera, Carlos Manuel Portillo, and Pedro Campa), one loss (Xolisani Ndongeni), and one no contest (Denilson Jair Valtierra Palomares) in his last five matches.
