The Jacksonville Jaguars wowed 84,000 fans at Wembley Stadium with four turnovers, one (failed) red-zone trip, and four sacks allowed en route to a three-point effort in a 26-3 loss to the Houston Texans in Week 10 of the 2019 NFL season, the most recent NFL game across the pond after COVID kept all games in the United States last season.
It was the second straight London game in which both teams failed to combine for at least 40 points and the eighth time in the last 10 games with 45 points or fewer. Only the Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2019 (63 points) and Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings in 2017 (49 points) played a game with at least 46 points. That’s exactly where the over/under total sits for the NFL’s return to London in Week 5.
As of Thursday, Oct. 7, the Atlanta Falcons are a 3-point favorite against the New York Jets in a game scheduled for 9:30 a.m. ET on Sunday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The total is 46 points. And while the NFL betting trends for all London games don’t overwhelmingly favor one side for over/under bets – the over/under is exactly .500 over the 28 games played in London since 2007 (14-14) – the under is 7-3 over that last 10 games:
|2017||Saints vs. Dolphins||51.5||20|
|2017||Cardinals vs. Rams||45.5||33|
|2017||Vikings vs. Browns||38.5||49|
|2018||Seahawks vs. Raiders||47.5||30|
|2018||Titans vs. Chargers||46||39|
|2018||Eagles vs. Jaguars||44.5||42|
|2019||Bears vs. Raiders||39.5||45|
|2019||Panthers vs. Buccaneers||48.5||63|
|2019||Bengals vs. Rams||48.5||45|
|2019||Texans vs. Jaguars||46||29|
