The Tennessee Titans’ star wide receiver, Julio Jones, couldn’t play Sunday against the Jaguars due to a hamstring injury.

Week 6 for NFL football is looking quite chaotic already. Can the Tennessee Titans keep pushing forward without their star WR, and how will his absence affect NFL betting trends in the next few weeks?

Keep reading for a breakdown on Julio Jones’ injury report, along with what Week 6 looks like for the Titans.

Julio Jones Injury Report

After missing multiple practice sessions, it’s pretty evident that Jones’ hamstring injury is more severe than previously thought. He picked up the injury after a 25-16 win over the Colts. It’s quite the issue, considering he only played 33 snaps, far below his average.

His hamstring made things worse, forcing him to miss practice and sit on the bench against the Jets and Jaguars. However, he’s performed well in the past despite his absences. The injury is all that’s holding him back at the moment.

Things are slightly looking up, though, for two reasons. First, A.J. Brown is back from a two-game absence and was spotted on the field for practice three consecutive Fridays. Second, Jones is getting full-time off to recover entirely from his hamstring issue.

Some expect Jones to return on October 18th for the match against the Bills. The good news is that he practiced on Wednesday the 13th and looked solid, increasing the likelihood of returning against Buffalo.

Tennessee Titans: A Look at Week 6

The Titans are looking at, perhaps, some frustrating outcomes from Julio Jones’ injury. He’s had 199 first down receptions and made major plays with 34 receptions on 3rd and long since 2018.

It’s worth noting that A.J. Brown, the potential temporary replacement, is struggling a bit, with just ten receptions on 25 targets this season. However, his average on first down receptions, since Week 16 of the 2020 season, sits at a comfortable 19.5 yards.

Without Julio on the field, it’s difficult for me to put much faith in the team against the Bills. Julio brings playmaking ability and can help the Titans extend drives, which they’ll have to do against a strong Buffalo defense. The Titans have to keep Josh Allen off the field, which means converting third downs. Julio gives them the best chance to do so.

The Titans Need Julio Jones on the Field

With the Buffalo Bills coming up, the Titans will need playmakers to keep up offensively. Derrick Henry should allow them to control the pace of the game, but if Buffalo doesn’t respect the passing game, they can stack the box with seven players and take the running game away as well.

Do you think that Julio Jones will play against Buffalo and lead the Titans to victory? Even if he does come back, do you think Buffalo is too talented?
