Loyola Chicago beat Illinois, 79-64, in the Regional Final of the 1963 NCAA Tournament en route to their first (and only) national championship in program history. It was the Ramblers’ first-ever win over the Illini in a series that now features 15 games and has been dominated by Illinois, 12-3. Bettors like the Illini to extend the all-time advantage in their Second Round matchup.

The two programs, separated by just 140 miles, have met only once since 2001 (a 2011 win by Illinois) and haven’t played in the NCAA Tournament since 1963, their lone tourney meeting. On Sunday in Indianapolis, Illinois is a 7.5-point betting favorite, a spread that’s attracted 73 percent of the tickets and 75 percent of the handle. It’s the highest ticket share and second-highest handle share of any Second Round game on Sunday.
