Kirk Cousins and Stefon Diggs connected for three touchdowns in the Minnesota Vikings’ win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 7 of the 2019 season. They easily covered -3.5 points in the 38-20 victory and improved to 3-0 outright and 3-0 against the spread at US Bank Stadium.
At the time, Mike Zimmer was 30-12-1 ATS at home as Vikings’ head coach, the best mark since 2014 for any NFL head coach. Since then, Zimmer is 5-11 ATS, the worst mark of any head coach over that time. Even Andy Reid, who’s riding a seven-game ATS home losing streak entering the Kansas City Chiefs’ home game against the New York Giants in Week 8, has a better mark since October 2019.
The Vikings’ lone ATS wins since covering against the Eagles more than two years ago:
|Dec. 8, 2019||Lions||-12||Vikings 20, Lions 7|
|Dec. 29, 2019||Bears||+5||Bears 21, Vikings 19|
|Sept. 27, 2020||Titans||+3||Titans 31, Vikings 0|
|Nov. 8, 2020||Lions||-3.5||Vikings 34, Lions 20|
|Sept. 26, 2021||Seahawks||+2||Vikings 30, Seahawks 17|
The Vikings have covered just once (Seahawks in Week 3) in their last seven games and bring a two-game ATS losing streak into their Week 8 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. As of Tuesday, Oct. 26, the Vikings are 2.5-point home underdogs.
It will be the third time in four games this season at US Bank Stadium the Vikings are underdogs. In addition to the Seahawks’ game, they were 1-point dogs against the Cleveland Browns in Week 4. They failed to cover (i.e., win or tie) in losing, 14-7.
