The Houston Astros haven’t missed the postseason since 2016, and they have surged into the 2024 MLB playoff picture after a slow start.

Astros Playoff Chances

The Astros playoff odds are -175, which implies a 63.64% chance of making the postseason.

Their playoff odds are the best in the AL West:

  • Mariners: -190
  • Astros: -175
  • Rangers: +525
  • Angels: Off the board
  • Athletics: Off the board

Astros Playoff Seed

If the postseason began today, the Astros wouldn’t make the six-team AL bracket. They are one game behind the Seattle Mariners for the division lead in the AL West.

Houston is also 3.5 games back of the Boston Red Sox for the final Wild Card spot.

Here’s the current AL bracket:

Last Time the Astros Made the Playoffs

The Astros made the playoffs in 2023, reaching the ALCS before losing in seven games to the Texas Rangers.

Houston has reached the ALCS in each of the last seven seasons, winning two World Series rings over that span.
