The Toronto Blue Jays are one win away from their postseason series victory since 2016 when they travel to face the New York Yankees in Game 3 of the ALDS at 8:08 p.m. ET on Tuesday at Yankee Stadium on FS1.
The Blue Jays have scored 23 runs through two games, earning a 10-1 win on Saturday and a 13-7 victory on Sunday. Toronto is now -600 to advance to the ALCS for the first time in nine years. The Blue Jays haven’t won a pennant since 1993.
New York is favored to keep its season alive on Tuesday, as Carlos Rodón (18-9, 3.09 ERA) will get the nod for the hosts against Toronto’s Shane Bieber (4-2, 3.57 ERA).

According to the initial MLB betting lines, I like the over on Toronto’s team total (3.5) as my favorite Blue Jays vs. Yankees prediction for Game 3 of the ALDS.
The Blue Jays’ bats will eventually cool down, but this seems like a low line in a favorable spot. Toronto has faced Rodón twice this season, clearing this total in both contests. The Blue Jays have scored six runs off 11 hits in 10 innings against the New York lefty.
Although a lefty pitcher can mitigate some of the power at Yankee Stadium, the Blue Jays’ success comes from their ability to put the ball in play.
Toronto led the majors with a .265 batting average and a .333 on-base percentage. The Blue Jays were fourth with an average of 4.9 runs per game this year and a wRC+ of 112.
Most of those metrics remain just as impressive against lefties. The Blue Jays are fourth with a wRC+ of 111 against southpaws. They are third in batting average (.264) and on-base percentage (.337) as well.
If the Blue Jays can chase Rodón early, they are positioned for success against a Yankees’ bullpen that had to record 31 outs over the weekend.
