Brewers vs. Dodgers Prediction: Game 4 NLCS Preview

The Los Angeles Dodgers can finish off a sweep when they host the Milwaukee Brewers for Game 4 of the NLCS at 8:38 p.m. ET on Friday at Dodger Stadium on TBS.

Thanks to an incredible showing from its starting rotation, Los Angeles has held Milwaukee to one run in each of the three games during this series, while the Dodgers’ offense has produced 10 runs.

But it doesn’t get any better for the Brewers.

Shohei Ohtani is slated to start Friday’s Game 4, having not pitched in nearly two weeks. In his last start, Ohtani allowed three runs across six frames in Game 1 of the NLDS.

Based on the initial MLB betting lines, I favor the over on 15.5 pitching outs for Shohei Ohtani in my Brewers vs. Dodgers prediction for Game 4 of the NLCS on Friday.

Dave Roberts doesn’t trust his bullpen, so he’d prefer to give his starters a longer leash. A Los Angeles starter has logged at least 16 outs in eight of the nine games this postseason. The lone exception was the only time the Dodgers have lost.

In this series alone, starters have recorded 22 2/3 innings of work. Blake Snell pitched eight innings in Game 1, followed by a complete game from Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Tyler Glasnow tallied 5 2/3 innings in last night’s win.

After nearly two weeks off, Ohtani should be able to log more than five innings. That’s why I like the value on this over. I’d play this line up to 16.5.

As for Ohtani’s hitting props, I’d prefer to stay away. It’s become clear that he’s less effective at the plate when pitching, as evidenced by his 0-for-4 clip in Game 1 of the NLDS.
