The Los Angeles Dodgers made the first significant splash in free agency by signing left-hander Blake Snell to a five-year, $182 million contract.

Snell, a 32-year-old two-time Cy Young winner, is coming off a 20-start campaign in his lone season with the San Francisco Giants. He posted a 3.12 ERA with 145 strikeouts and 44 walks in 104 innings following his Cy Young campaign for the San Diego Padres in 2023.

With the addition of Snell and Shohei Ohtani’s return to the mound, the Dodgers suddenly have one of the best rotations in baseball to complement the most talented lineup in the league in their quest to repeat as World Series champions.

Here is a look at how the Dodgers’ MLB odds adjusted following the Snell signing:

Dodgers World Series Odds

  • Opening value: +400
  • Current price: +340

The Dodgers’ World Series odds moved from +400 to +340 after signing Snell to begin the offseason, giving them a 22.73% implied probability of repeating as champions in 2025.

The difference of a 2.73% implied probability might not seem like much, but it’s a solid move for a team that was already favored to win it all. Los Angeles went from +800 to +350 to win the World Series after signing Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto last offseason.

At +340, this would mark the Dodgers’ shortest preseason price to win it all, besting the +350 value from 2024 and 2021.

Dodgers National League Odds

  • Opening value: +200
  • Current price: +185

After landing Snell, the Dodgers’ MLB betting lines in the National League pennant market went from +200 to +185. That gives them an implied probability of 35.09% to win the NL pennant.

Los Angeles was actually +160 to win the NL pennant last preseason. Juan Soto’s next team odds will likely impact this market, as the New York Mets are among the top contenders for the star outfielder following their NLCS appearance.

The Dodgers have won the NL four times in the past eight seasons.

Dodgers NL West Odds

  • Opening value: -150
  • Current price: -300

Los Angeles has gone from -300 to -150 to win the NL West since the market opened earlier in the offseason, thanks to some betting interest and the addition of Snell to the rotation.

It marks the 12th time in the past 13 years that the Dodgers have minus odds to win the NL West in the preseason.

  • 2025: -300
  • 2024: -550
  • 2023: -120
  • 2022: -225
  • 2021: -250
  • 2020: -470
  • 2019: -350
  • 2018: -220
  • 2017: -205
  • 2016: +115
  • 2015: -275
  • 2014: -220
  • 2013: -125
