- Los Angeles is -155 to win Friday’s Game 1.
The 2025 World Series will get underway with Game 1 between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Los Angeles Dodgers at 8 p.m. ET on Friday at the Rogers Centre on FOX.
Los Angeles is attempting to become the first team to win consecutive championships since the New York Yankees won three in a row between 1998 and 2000.
The Dodgers are -220 to win the series ahead of Game 1, making them the biggest pre-series favorites since the Houston Astros were -235 before their eventual loss in the 2019 World Series.
The Dodgers enter this matchup playing their best baseball of the year. They are 9-1 this postseason, which includes a pair of sweeps. The Blue Jays are coming off a seven-game series against the Seattle Mariners in the ALCS.
Dodgers vs. Blue Jays Prediction for Game 1
- Blake Snell over 17.5 outs (-110)
Based on the initial MLB betting lines, my Dodgers vs. Blue Jays prediction is the over on Blake Snell’s outs props (17.5) in Game 1 of the World Series on Friday.
I’ve been targeting the outs props for Los Angeles starters for much of the postseason. It’s become clear that manager Dave Roberts prefers to give his starters a longer leash due to the lack of reliable options in the bullpen.
A Dodgers starter has pitched at least six innings in eight of the 10 games so far this postseason. Blake Snell is responsible for three of those performances, logging 21 total innings over that span. By Friday, he won’t have pitched in 11 days since his eight-inning gem against the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 1 of the NLCS.
The Blue Jays can be a frustrating team to pitch against, as they posted the lowest strikeout rate in the majors this season. But that could help Snell, who likes to nibble around the edges a bit too much at times.
I expect Snell to get pulled in the sixth inning on Friday. Ballpark Pal’s model projects 6.13 innings for the left-hander.
Either way, I like this over as long as it’s at 17.5 or better.
Prediction: Blake Snell over 17.5 outs (Pick made Wednesday)
Dodgers vs. Blue Jays Odds: Friday, Oct. 24
- Dodgers moneyline: -155
- Blue Jays moneyline: +130
- Total: 7.5
