Dodgers vs. Blue Jays Prediction: Game 2 World Series Preview

  • Get MLB picks and analysis for Dodgers vs. Blue Jays.
  • Los Angeles is -130 to win Saturday’s Game 2.

After dropping Game 1, the Los Angeles Dodgers hope to bounce back in Game 2 of the World Series against the Toronto Blue Jays at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday at the Rogers Centre on FOX.

Toronto scored nine runs in the sixth inning to break the game open, securing an 11-4 win during Friday’s opener. Addison Barger hit a grand slam, while Alejandro Kirk followed with a two-run homer. Daulton Varsho also delivered a two-run blast.

More importantly, the Blue Jays were able to get to the Dodgers’ bullpen in Game 1. A Los Angeles starter had averaged more than six innings per game this postseason entering the Fall Classic.

It remains to be seen what kind of impact that will have on the rest of the series. Yoshinobu Yamamoto will get the ball for the Dodgers in Game 2, while Kevin Gausman will take the mound for the Blue Jays.

Dodgers vs. Blue Jays Prediction for Game 2

  • Dodgers moneyline (-130)

Based on the initial MLB betting lines, my Dodgers vs. Blue Jays prediction for Game 2 of the World Series on Saturday is Los Angeles’ moneyline (-130).

I believe in a bounce-back performance for the Dodgers, but this has more to do with who is on the mound than anything else. Yamamoto has quickly become one of my favorite pitchers to watch, and he’s coming off an excellent performance.

Yamamoto tossed a complete game against the Milwaukee Brewers in the NLCS, allowing one run on three hits. He struck out seven batters and walked one.

This comes after Yamamoto posted a 2.49 ERA in 30 starts during the regular season. According to Baseball Savant, his expected batting average allowed (.207) ranked in the 91st percentile in the majors.

That’s undoubtedly a good thing because, as Yamamoto saw on Friday, this Blue Jays lineup doesn’t go away quietly. Toronto led the majors in batting average (.265) and posted the lowest strikeout rate (17.8%) during the regular season.

If the Blue Jays get to the bullpen for a second night in a row, they will have to feel good about their chances.

That said, I’m backing Yamamoto to lead the Dodgers to victory before they head back to Los Angeles.

Prediction: Dodgers moneyline (-130)

Dodgers vs. Blue Jays Odds: Saturday, Oct. 25

  • Dodgers moneyline: -130
  • Blue Jays moneyline: +110
  • Total: 7.5
