- Los Angeles is -145 to win Saturdayโs Game 7.
The final game of the MLB season will determine which team makes history when the Toronto Blue Jays host the Los Angeles Dodgers for Game 7 of the World Series at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday at the Rogers Centre on FOX.
The Dodgers are attempting to become the first team to win consecutive championships since the New York Yankees won three in a row between 1998 and 2000. The Blue Jays are seeking their first World Series win since 1993.
It will be all hands on deck for both teams in a winner-take-all matchup on the first day of November.
After a 3-1 victory in Fridayโs Game 6, Los Angeles is a -145 favorite to win Saturdayโs Game 7.
Dodgers vs. Blue Jays Prediction for Game 7
- Dodgers moneyline (-135)
Based on the initial MLB betting lines, I project Los Angeles to win as my Dodgers vs. Blue Jays prediction for Saturdayโs Game 7. This pick was made Friday night before pitchers were announced.
Here’s what I wrote last night:
The Dodgers have a couple of different options to mull over after Yoshinobu Yamamoto gave them six innings in Game 6. Tyler Glasnow would be in line to start after getting the ball in Game 3, but he threw three pitches to get the final two outs on Friday. Shohei Ohtani is also available to pitch after starting in Game 4.
The reason why Ohtaniโs availability is so important is that heโs also in the starting lineup as a designated hitter. The Dodgers would likely need to open with him. If Ohtani were to come in relief, heโd have to move to a position (likely in right field) to stay in the lineup.
As a result, Iโm expecting Ohtani to start (Dave Roberts suggested after the game that he could pitch between two and four frames) before Glasnow goes behind him. Yamamoto is unlikely to be available with no rest, but he was willing to pitch in Game 3 (had it gone to 19 innings) after a complete game in Game 2.
Thatโs what makes a Game 7 so much fun to preview, especially when itโs the final contest of the season. Both teams will be willing to do whatever is necessary to get 27 outs.
For the Blue Jays, veteran Max Scherzer should get the nod after starting Game 3.
Scherzer, who is 41, has done an admirable job in back-to-back postseason starts. Heโs allowed five runs on eight hits over his last two outings after giving up four or more runs in five of his final six regular-season starts.
With the Dodgers getting a second look at Scherzer in this series, I like their chances of a fast start. They have scored first in all but one game during this series, so thatโs a market worth backing if it continues to hover in the -110 range.
For now, I like Los Angelesโ moneyline value as my Dodgers vs. Blue Jays prediction for Game 7. I prefer to target player props markets when they become available, provided the moneyline moves past -135.
Prediction: Dodgers moneyline (-135) – Pick made Friday
Dodgers vs. Blue Jays Odds: Saturday, Nov. 1
- Dodgers moneyline: -145
- Blue Jays moneyline: +120
- Total: 8
