Dodgers vs. Brewers Player Props: Game 2 NLCS Best Bets

There wasn’t much offense in last night’s 2-1 finish between the Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles Dodgers, which could continue to be the case in Game 2 at 8:08 p.m. ET on Tuesday at American Family Field on TBS.

The Brewers, who lost the opener at home, will give the ball to their best pitcher. Freddy Peralta went 17-6 with a 2.70 ERA. The Dodgers will counter with Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who recorded a 12-8 clip and a 2.49 ERA in the regular season.

With the MLB betting market expecting a pitcher’s duel, here are my favorite Dodgers vs. Brewers player props for Game 2:

Dodgers vs. Brewers Players Props: Game 2 NLCS

  • Jake Bauers over 0.5 hits, runs, and RBIs (+100)
  • Yoshinobu Yamamoto over 3.5 hits allowed (-155)

Jake Bauers Over 0.5 Hits, Runs, and RBIs

Milwaukee could start Jake Bauers with a right-handed pitcher on the mound, creating an opportunity to back him after he came through in a pinch-hit situation in Game 1.

Bauers delivered a double in the ninth inning before being subbed out for a pinch-runner. In his previous start in the NLDS, Bauers finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs and one run. The lefty hit .235 in 183 at-bats during the regular season.

This line is low because Bauers is a pinch-hit risk, but the Dodgers would like to lean on Yamamoto for as many outs as possible. As a result, I like the +100 price tag on Bauers to do something for the Brewers.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto Over 3.5 Hits Allowed

As mentioned above, Yamamoto will be given a longer leash in Game 2. Not only is he elite, but Dodgers manager Dave Roberts doesn’t have too many trustworthy options in the bullpen.

Roki Sasaki, who began the year as a starter, has earned the closer role with his play this postseason. However, he finally ran into trouble in the ninth inning, which led to Roberts calling on Blake Treinen to record the final out.

Assuming Yamamoto pitches six innings, I like his chances of allowing four or more hits. Ballpark Pal’s model projects 4.09 hits allowed in 5.8 innings.
