Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. is considered the fastest player in MLB with an average sprint speed of 30.4 feet per second during the 2025 season, per Baseball Savant.

Witt has an average sprint speed of 30.5 feet per second since entering the league in 2022. That is considered the fastest mark since MLB started tracking sprint speed in 2015.

Oddly enough, Wittโ€™s speed hasnโ€™t translated to being MLBโ€™s leader in stolen bases. Heโ€™s actually been caught stealing 39 times in his four-year career.

According to Baseball Savantโ€™s Baserunning Run Value leaderboard, Tampa Bay Rays infielder Jose Caballero has the highest mark (17) in the majors during the 2025 season.
