The sports card industry has picked up in recent years, with cards increasing in value each year.
The Foul Territory crew recently broke down the most valuable sports cards for MLB superstars.
Most Valuable Sports Cards For MLB Superstars
Paul Skenes – RHP, Pittsburgh Pirates
Mid-November of 2024 began a major chase in the hobby when the 2024 Topps Chrome Update was dropped. This set had 251 MLB Debut Patch Autographed 1/1 cards, including that of Paul Skenes. The Skenes Debut Patch auto was graded to a PSA 10 and was sold at auction for $1.11 million.
Shohei Ohtani – DH/RHP, Los Angeles Dodgers
Shoheiโs historic 50/50 season led to his most valuable card to date. His 2024 Topps Dynasty Black Logoman 1/1 auto was graded to a PSA 9 and sold for $1,067,500 at auction. The logo in the card is from the pants he was wearing when he stole his 50th base and became the inaugural member of the 50/50 club.
Aaron Judge – RF, New York Yankees
The Yankee captain was stunned to find out in an interview that his most expensive card sale was $324,000. Judgeโs Bowman 1st Superfractor 1/1 auto sold for that amount at auction in 2022, which was around double what the same card was sold for in 2020.
