Home Run Predictions for MLB Opening Day

  • Minnesota Twins 3B Royce Lewis vs. Baltimore Orioles (+500)

Who Will Hit a Home Run Today?

I’m predicting Minnesota Twins third baseman Royce Lewis will hit a home run on Wednesday against the Baltimore Orioles.

This could be a big year for the former No. 1 overall pick. Lewis, 26, hasn’t been able to stay healthy through four MLB campaigns. He’s yet to play more than 106 games in a single season.

But Lewis hopes to change his story in 2026. That’s why he hired a private hitting coach this past offseason. Lewis adjusted his batting stance.

The numbers from spring training weren’t promising, but his .114 batting average on balls in play likely weighted his stats down in a small sample size. When he gets his pitch, he’s still capable of squaring up on the ball.

And that’s what I’m banking on ahead of Wednesday’s matchup, which could feature 70-degree weather in Baltimore. The wind is expected to blow out to left field, a promising signal for someone like Lewis, who pulls most of his homers.

At +500, Lewis has an implied probability of 16.67% to hit a home run. I’d be comfortable backing him in this market at +450 or better.
